some stats..

Here's some stats to go with this from

According to national surveys
  • Approximately 92% of U.S. adults who drink excessively report binge drinking in the past 30 days.2
  • Although college students commonly binge drink, 70% of binge drinking episodes involve adults age 26 years and older.3
  • The prevalence of binge drinking among men is higher than the prevalence among women.4
  • Binge drinkers are 14 times more likely to report alcohol-impaired driving than non-binge drinkers.3
  • About 90% of the alcohol consumed by youth under the age of 21 in the United States is in the form of binge drinks.5
  • About 75% of the alcohol consumed by adults in the United States is in the form of binge drinks.5
  • The proportion of current drinkers that binge is highest in the 18- to 20-year-old group (51%).3

Why..

Binge drinking is something i'm against due to I worry about the future and how I may lose friends to it.
I've seen my brother, my sister, and her friends also lose people in their lives due to people not thinking
when their intoxicated. May seem a tad selfish, but I do not want to go through it myself. No one is
truely fond of people leaving their lives unexpected or even expected at that, but to stupid petty reasons
which could be changed is even worse. People just need to grow up and atleast if their going to drink,

More thoughts have popped in my head about binge drinking, or actually how it can be helped or stopped a bit. I was thinking maybe if we dropped the legal drinking age by 4-6 years it would help. You look at other country's that have stable drinking community's and their drinking age is very young. I feel this allow's teens to start learning to casually drink younger and not sit there and drink till their basically dead. This is just my thought, maybe i'm wrong about this. People just need to realize what harm alchool does....
